NICHOLS NEWS-LETTKl
uly

1964.
After
soma months
of delibera t ion,
we
are a t l a s t ready to announce our plans .
I t
has
been
a
very
t ry ing
t ime.
We
have
earnest ly
prayed
and
sought
to
know God^s
wi l l
and yet
the
things that have happened have seemingly presented a contradictory
picture without purpose o r
plan;
I t has been di f f icu l t to
be
patient under these
circumstances, but
a t
l a s t we
are beginning
to
see
a
pat tern emerge.
Our eoqjectations were
that
by th is timw
of
the
year,
the
Nichols

be

preparing
to
teach in one of our Bib le Col leges. Why t h i s did not

out as

the best

joy
to wbirk with such f ine co-

This
spring, when John and

held a
meeting fo r Maile
Church Of
Christ, jihn thrilled us with the account f the wonderful opportunities offered by
the
wArk
in
Ghana*
Sometime
l a t e r
while riding
together , and on
the spur
of the moment
I asked him, In your opinion would a man be j us ti fi ed i n going cut to the wcric in
Ghana and staying only
two
years
His
reply was tnsthe aff i rmative. Thus
was
iihe seed
planted,
and
the pla nt emerging therefrom
has
had a most di f f i cu l t time
in
breaking
out
in to

I am
sure that a l l the arguments

been
offered
by members
of
my
family. There have been
t imes
when
I
have f e l t
overwhelmed
by
these
arguments,
and have
been
nearly
ready
t c
say, Imust be wrong, this
i s
not
fo r
me . But I could
f ind
no peace in t h i s pos i t ion
Always it came
back
to th i s ; You have
been
praying for
God's leading,
but have been

has dosed
no doors , I know
tha t
God
can s t i l l

and I pray that He wil l , if it i s not His

that I gp to Ghana.
