令部分機場快線乘客轉乘東涌線,使東涌線乘客量更早超出其載客量。
Divert some AEL passengers to TCL and hence overload the capacity of TCL earlier.
工程期間機場快線須由現時每小時135公里減速至每小時50公里 (至少三至四年),增加行車時間。
Speed of AEL needs to reduce from 135 km/hr to 50 km/hr during construction period
(at least 3 - 4 years); travelling time will increase.
佔用機場快線列車路軌,大大降低其增加班次的靈活性。
Occupy the AEL tracks and hence substantially reduce the flexibility of increasing the train
frequency of AEL.
備置工程將推遲東涌東站的完工時間至少一至兩年。
Delay the completion of TCE Station for at least 1 - 2 years due to enabling works.

繼續與專營巴士營辦商緊密監察乘客需求,並適時新增路線或加強現有巴士服務。
Continue to monitor closely the passenger demand with the franchised bus operators and
introduce new routes or enhance existing services at appropriate times.
現時已有多條專營巴士路線及穿梭巴士服務來往機場島至東涌和港九新界。
There are several franchised bus
routes and shuttle bus services
between Airport Island and Tung
Chung / Urban Areas / New Territories.
機管局有關穿梭鐵路項目的研究已完結。基於上述關注,該穿梭鐵路項目將不會推展。而機管局正聯同港鐵公司進行其他種類的交通配套方案研究。
Airport Authority’s study of the rail shuttle has been completed. Owing to the above-mentioned
concerns, the rail shuttle will not be implemented. The Airport Authority is proceeding with a
joint study with MTRCL on other types of transportation facilities.
