1.3 Fields of action: Education + Entrepreneurship
Support of education system through all age groups in the following areas:
– Basic competencies (reading, writing, calculating)
– MST /STEM
– Entrepreneurship education
Support of start-upsthrough mentoring programmes and a start-up competition called WECONOMY
Companies build up partnerships with schools in their regions or with start-ups as mentors

Scientific partner

Target group • primary schools, 5th and 6th grade
Content • Encourage basic technical understanding and skills by doing construction work in small teams, e.g. construction and building of a bridge or a vehicle
• building technology, electrical engineering, vehicle engineering
Costs • material: 750 € (further material 150 €)

• 10 % - 15 % FTE for 3 - 4 months

2.2.1 „KiTec“ – Project content
Kit:Kit developed for a group of 30 kids consists of 5 drawers with tools, wood and material, such as nails, elastic band, steering wheels, glue etc. as well as 30 documentation foldersTeachers manual:information on possible construction solutions, step-by-step instruction material, proposal of how to implement this into the curriculumTraining:3-day training for company representatives by ZNL Ulm and Technical Univ. of Dortmund followed by teacher training

Contents • 36 experiments, topics: water, air, food (for example: how does sugar and salt dissolve in water)
Costs • Kit for experiments: 200 €
• Training: 300 €

• 10 % - 15 % FTE for 3-4 months

3. Getting involved!
Becoming a member:
– Before being able to implement Wissensfabrik projects, a company has to become a member.
Prerequisites for members:
– Company or foundation based in Germany
– Engagement within Wissensfabrik
– Yearly payment of membership fee plus costs for the project chosen

3.1 Membership fee
Membership fee:
– Membership fee depends on the turnover of the company in Germany per year
– per 100 million Euro turnover/revenue = 1.000 Euro
membership fee
– minimum fee: 1.000 €
Project costs:
– costs for project materials (starting at 60 Euro)
– personnel costs for the company trainer
