Es sind nur ein paar Schritte zum

Bahnhof nebenan.

Time to get going and begin the

journey. It is just a short way to

the train station nearby.


Die Landschaft fliegt vorbei. Vor ihm freier

Raum, der ihn schnell vorwärts bringt.

The landscape flies past. The open space

propels you swiftly forward.


Dann der erste Zwischenhalt. Was

sagt der Fahrplan? Einfach umstei-

gen und weiterfahren. Doch der

Zug ist nicht da. Soll er warten?

Umkehren?

Ein Blick den Geleisen entlang,

darüber hinaus bis in die Wiesen

dahinter. Ein schöner Gedanke,

der Zeit zu entfliehen. Sich dort

ein wenig umzuschauen.

Then the first way station. What does the timetable say? Simply change trains and

continue the journey. But the next train isn’t there yet. Should you wait? Or turn back?

A gaze down the tracks, out beyond the station to the meadow in the distance. How

nice it would be to escape time and have a look around out there.


Tiere und Pflanzen gibt es hier – eigentlich sollte er sie

kennen. Doch seine Augen scheinen in der fremden

Umgebung anders zu sehen.

There are plants and animals here. Actually, you should

know them. But your eyes appear to see differently in

these unfamiliar surroundings.


Unerwartet erkennt er den Glanz im Gefieder der

Vögel, den vielfältigen Klang ihrer Stimmen, die

Schwungkraft ihrer Flügel. Sind das wirklich diesel-

ben Vögel? Was liesse sich aus dieser veränderten

Perspektive heraus noch Neues entdecken?

Then, unexpectedly, you recognize the radiance in

the feathers of the birds, the buoyant melody of

their song, the sweeping force of their wings. Are

they really the same birds? What else is there to be

discovered from this new perspective?


Ohne Hast dahinschlendern. Mit Musse eine Tasse

Kaffee trinken. Inmitten von Menschen, die mitein-

ander reden, flüstern, lachen, diskutieren.


You feel an impulse to take a casual stroll in that direction. And leisurely drink a cup of

coffee, among those people who are talking with one another, whispering, and laughing.


Dann der erste Blickkontakt, die ersten Wor-

te, aus Sätzen gemalte Bilder, die sich mit

eigenen vermischen und Neugier wecken.

Was zählt ist das Hier und Jetzt.

Then the first eye contact, the first words:

Unwichtig wird das Mittel, mit dem er unterwegs ist. Statt des Zuges kann es ebenso gut das Auto sein. Es scheint sogar besser für die Weiterfahrt

zu zweit. Nun hat er an seiner Seite jemanden, der andere Fragen stellt, andere Landschaften mag, andere Wege wählt.


The exact means of your journey have lost their importance. A car is just as good as the train. Even better, now that you are traveling with

a companion. Someone at your side who asks other questions, who likes other landscapes, and tends to choose other paths.


Über Berg und Tal, durch Felder und

Städte. Vielfältig sind die An- und Ein-

sichten, die sich eröffnen. Manchmal

abrupt unterbrochen durch Umleitun-

gen, Rotlichter oder Sackgassen.

Over mountains and across valleys,

through fields and cities. Many are the

captivating views and insights. Some-

times abruptly interrupted by detours,

red lights and dead ends.


Doch jeder Umweg erweitert die eigenen Kennt-

nisse. Jeder Halt überrascht mit Sehenswürdig-

keiten. Jede Begegnung, jeder Dialog ist geprägt

durch die Individualität der Menschen. Der Weg

wird ebenso wichtig wie das Ziel.

But every detour expands breadth of your in-

sights. Every stop along the way holds a surprise

and is worth seeing in its own right. Every en-

counter, every dialogue is characterized by the

uniqueness of people. The journey has become

just as important as the destination.


Reisen verändert Vorurteile, Meinungen

und Sichtweisen. Die eigenen und die

Journeys reverse prejudices, change points

of view and challenge assumptions. Both

your own and those of others.


Die Ankunft am Ziel mag begleitet sein von tiefer Zufrie-

denheit. Mehr noch aber sind es die Erinnerungen an die

Reise selbst, aus denen er immer wieder schöpfen wird.
