How is it madePaprika is made from pepper, which was introduced in La Vera in the 16th Century by theJerónimos monks. La Vera, is a unique county close to Gredos mountain range and the gorgesof the Tiétar river which set a perfect environment for peppers growth and, therefore,paprika production.

Oak or Holm Oak wood provides the perfect combination between heat temperature andaroma; assisting with the fruits dehydration during 10 to 15 days, while there are tossed andturned before there are stoned milled. Special attention is paid to the temperature reachedby the final product to ensure the result of a fine and uniform powder with optimum quality:Pimenton de la Vera.

Serving recommendations Paprika should be stored in an airtight container in a cool, dark and dry place with low humidity.

Appearance and tasteThe pepper species, Capsicum Annum, and the sub-species: Cerasiforme and Longum are thebirth of three types of paprika: Sweet, Bittersweet and Spicy.The consequences of fire/smoke drying system used to dry peppers are three fundamentalcharacteristics: smoky aroma, rich flavor and intense ever-lasting red color.This paprika is highly valued around the world.
