Einbauempfehlungen

Vor dem Einbau der Ringe mssen die Ringnuten

sorgfltig gereinigt werden. Bitte unbedingt da-

rauf achten, dass weder die Nutflanken noch die

Radien im Nutgrund beschdigt werden.

Bei Schlauchfederringen muss der Federsto

(Stoende mit Verbindungsdraht) 180 versetzt

zum Ringsto liegen. Sollte die Schlauchfeder mit

einem Teflonschlauch berzogen sein, ist darauf

zu achten, dass dieser am Ringsto liegt.

Der Einbau der Ringe erfolgt mit einer geeigneten

Kolbenringzange, beginnend mit dem unters ten

Ring. Eine berdehnung ist zu vermeiden, da die

Ringe dabei verformt werden knnen und nicht

mehr einwandfrei abdichten.

Es ist unbedingt auf die TOP-Kennzeichnung zu

achten. Bei TOP-gekennzeichneten Ringen sind

diese mit der Kennzeichnung nach oben in Rich-

tung Kolbenboden einzubauen.

Stahllamellenringe (3S-Ringe) erfordern beim

Einbau besondere Sorgfalt. Nach dem Einsetzen

der Feder sind die Lamellen so zu montieren,

dass sich die Ste der Lamellen in Richtung der

Bolzenbohrung befinden. Beim Einbau der obe-

ren Lamelle mssen die Federenden zusam men-

gehalten werden, um ein berlappen zu verhin-

dern (hierbei auf die Farbmarkierung achten).

Danach ist die untere Lamelle einzubauen.

Bei Kolben mit Verdrehsicherungen in den Ring-

nuten ist darauf zu achten, dass die Ringste

an den Sicherungsstiften liegen.

Nach dem Einbau der Ringe sind die Ring ste

gleichmig am Umfang zu verteilen (z. B. 120

bei einem 3-Ring-Kolben).

Das Flankenspiel ist nach dem Einbau der Ringe

zu prfen. Spiele bis zu 0,100 mm sind unbe-

denklich. Sollte der Wert darber liegen, muss

der Kolben erneuert werden.

Die Ringstze bercksichtigen einen gewissen

Verschlei der Zylinderlaufflche. Dieser sollte

einen Wert von ca. 0,100 mm (bezogen auf den

Zylinderdurchmesser) nicht berschreiten. Bei

grerem Verschlei ist eine neue Zylinder lauf-

buchse zu verwenden oder die Zylinderbohrung

aufzubohren und mit einem entspre chen den

ber makolben zu bestcken.

Bei verchromten Zylinderlaufflchen drfen keine

verchromten Kolbenringe verwendet werden.

Der MAHLE N-Ringsatz entspricht den fr die Erst-ausrstung und den bei MAHLE Kolben verwendeten Ringen im Werkstoff, in Bearbeitung und Laufflchen -beschichtung. Dieser Ringsatz kann sowohl fr neue als auch fr gelaufene Kolben verwendet werden.

The piston rings are fitted with the greatest of

care. Permanent deformation is caused to the

rings each time they are removed unnecessarily

and put back into place with excessive stretching,

which in turn impairs the operating performance.

Fitting recommendations

The ring grooves must be cleaned thoroughly

before the rings are fitted. It is essential to makes

sure that neither the groove flanks nor the radi-

uses in the groove root are damaged.

In the case of coil-supported oil control rings, the

spring joint (the spring end with the connector wire)

must be positioned at 180 to the ring gap. If the

coil spring has a Teflon coil cover, care must be

taken to ensure that the cover ends at the ring gap.

The rings are fitted with suitable piston ring pliers,

starting with the lowest ring. Overstretching the

rings should be avoided, since this can lead to their

deformation and inability to provide a perfect seal.

It is essential that the TOP identification is

observed. Rings with TOP identification are fitted

with the marking facing upwards in the direction

of the piston crown.

Special care is required when fitting steel rail

rings (3S rings). After the spring has been loaded,

the rails are fitted such that the rail gaps point

towards the pin bore. When fitting the upper rail,

the ends of the spring must be held together so

as to prevent overlapping (attention is to be paid

to the colour marking when doing so). The lower

rail can then be fitted.

In the case of pistons with ring joint stops in the

ring grooves, care must be taken to ensure that

the ring gaps are positioned alongside the safety

dowel pins.

After the rings have been fitted, the ring gaps

must be spread evenly around the circumference

(e.g. at 120 for a 3-ring piston).

The side clearance must be checked after the

rings have been fitted. Clearances of up to

0.100 mm are acceptable; if the clearance is

greater, the piston must be replaced.

The ring sets allow for a certain amount of wear

on the cylinder surface. This should not exceed a

value of approx. 0.100 mm (in relation to the cyl-

inder diameter). In case of greater wear, a new

cylinder liner must be used or the cylinder bore

must be re-bored and equipped with a suitable

oversize piston.

Chromium-plated piston rings must not be used

in conjunction with chromium-plated cylinder

surfaces.

The MAHLE N ring set corresponds to the rings used for original equipment and the ones used in MAHLE pis-tons, both in terms of materials and processing as well as in bore coating. This ring set can be used both for new pistons and for worn pistons.

The MAHLE V and G ring sets provide a cost-effective solution for normalising oil consumption and reducing compression loss in worn pistons.

New part numbers for new productsSince 2012, the part numbers for new MAHLE Original pistons, cylinder liners, and assemblies comprise 13 characters. All engine components introduced to the market prior to 2012 are retaining the 7-character part number.

Recommandations de montage

Nettoyez soigneusement les gorges avant de

monter les segments. Veillez imprativement

nendommager ni les flancs des gorges ni les

rayons de fond de gorge.

Dans le cas des segments ressort spirodal,

orientez la coupe du ressort (lextrmit avec fil

de liaison) 180 de la coupe du segment. Si le

ressort spirodal est revtu de teflon, position-

nez-le sur la coupe.

Le montage des segments seffectue laide

dune pince segment de piston adapte, en

commenant par le segment du bas. Veillez ne

pas trop les carter car ils se dforment facile-

ment, auquel cas ils nassurent plus correctement

leur fonction dtanchit.

Les segments ont un sens de montage! Orien-

tez-les imprativement suivant le repre TOP.

Montez les segments en dirigeant toujours le mar-

quage TOP vers la tte du piston (vers le haut).

Le montage des segments lamelles dacier (seg-

ments 3S) ncessite un soin particulier. Aprs

avoir insr le ressort, positionnez les lamelles de

manire ce que leurs coupes soient orientes

vers lalsage de laxe de piston. Lors du montage

de la lamelle suprieure, joignez les extrmits du

ressort de manire viter quelles ne se che-

vauchent (suivez le marquage de couleur). Proc-

dez ensuite au montage de la lamelle infrieure.

Pour les pistons avec arrtoirs dans les gorges,

assurez-vous que les coupes soient positionnes

contre les tiges darrt.

Lorsque tous les segments sont monts, dcalez

les coupes de manire uniforme sur le pourtour

du piston (par ex. de 120 pour un montage 3

segments).

Pour finir, vrifiez le jeu des coupes. Il ne doit pas

dpasser 0,100 mm. Si cest le cas, remplacez le

piston.

Les jeux de segments prennent en compte une

certaine usure de la surface portante du cylindre.

Celle-ci ne doit cependant pas dpasser

0,100 mm env. (par rapport au diamtre du

cylindre). Si lusure est plus importante, utilisez

une chemise de cylindre neuve ou agrandissez

lalsage du cylindre et dotez-le dun piston sur-

dimensionn en consquence.

Ne montez jamais des segments chroms dans

des cylindres chroms.

Le jeu de segments N de MAHLE est conforme aux segments utiliss pour la premire monte et sur les pis-tons MAHLE: leur matriau, leur usinage et leur revte-ment des surfaces de porte sont identiques ceux des segments dorigine. Ce jeu de segments peut tre mont aussi bien sur des pistons neufs que sur des pistons dj utiliss.

Sur des pistons usags, les jeux de segments MAHLE V et G reprsentent une solution conomique pour normaliser la consommation dhuile et rduire les pertes de compression.

Nouvelles rfrences pour des nouveauts partir de 2012, les rfrences des pistons, chemises de cylindres et ensembles MAHLE Original nouvellement introduits au catalogue comportent 13 caractres. Les rfrences 7 caractres sont conserves pour les pices moteur dj sur le march.

Consejos de montaje

Antes del montaje deben limpiarse cuidadosa-

mente las ranuras de los segmentos. Debe

ponerse atencin a no daar ni los flancos ni los

radios del fondo de la ranura.

En el caso de segmentos con expansor helicoi-

dal, el corte del expansor (final del corte con fia-

dor de unin) debe colocarse desplazado 180

respecto al corte de segmento. Si el expansor

helicoidal debe recubrirse con un tubo de tefln,

debe prestarse atencin a que ste se coloque

en el corte de segmento.

El montaje de los segmentos se realiza con una

tenaza adecuada para segmentos de pistn,

empezando por el segmento inferior. Se ha de

evitar abrirlos excesivamente, ya que los segmen-

tos podran deformarse y dejaran de sellar de

forma correcta.

Debe prestarse especial atencin a la marca TOP.

En el caso de segmentos que presenten la marca

TOP, los segmentos deben montarse con la marca

hacia arriba en direccin al fondo del pistn.

Los segmentos de acero con laminillas (segmen-

tos 3S) precisan cuidados especiales en el mon-

taje. Despus de colocar el expansor, las lamini-

llas deben montarse de modo que el corte de las

mismas se encuentre en direccin al agujero de

buln. Al montar la laminilla superior, los extremos

del muelle deben mantenerse juntos para evitar

un solapamiento (prestar atencin a la marca de

color). Luego debe montarse la laminilla inferior.

En pernos con proteccin contra la torsin en las

ranuras del segmento, debe prestarse atencin a

que las uniones de los segmentos se encuentren

en los pasadores de seguridad.

Tras el montaje de los segmentos, las uniones de

los mismos deben distribuirse uniformemente por

toda la circunferencia (por ejemplo, cada 120 en

un pistn de tres segmentos).

Despus de efectuado el montaje, debe compro-

barse el juego de los flancos. Una holgura de

hasta 0,100 mm no afecta a la seguridad. Si el

valor fuera superior, entonces debe renovarse el

pistn.

Los juegos de segmentos tienen en cuenta un

determinado desgaste de la superficie de los

cilindros. Este desgaste no debe superar un valor

de aprox. 0,100 mm (referido al dimetro del cilin-

dro). En caso de un desgaste superior, se debe

emplear una camisa de cilindro nueva o rectificar

el cilindro y equiparlo con un pistn del tamao

apropiado.

No deben emplearse segmentos de pistn cro-

mados con superficies de cilindro cromadas.

El juego de segmentos MAHLE N corresponde a los segmentos del equipamiento original y a los segmentos usados en el taller para los pistones MAHLE, en cuanto al procesamiento y al revestimiento de las superficies de deslizamiento. Este juego de segmentos puede emplearse tanto para pistones nuevos como para pisto-nes ya rodados.

Los juegos de segmentos MAHLE V y G ofrecen, para pistones ya rodados, una solucin econmica para normalizar el consumo de aceite y para reducir la pr-dida de compresin.

Raccomandazioni per il montaggio

Prima del montaggio degli anelli di tenuta, le sca-

nalature degli anelli devono essere pulite accura-

tamente. Fare assolutamente attenzione a non

danneggiare n la parte laterale n i raggi sul

fondo delle scanalature.

Negli anelli a molla elicoidale, la fenditura della

molla (fine della fenditura con filo metallico di col-

legamento) deve essere spostata di 180 rispetto

alla fenditura dellanello. Se la molla elicoidale

rivestita da un tubo in teflon, bisogna fare atten-

zione che questultimo si trovi sulla fenditura

dellanello.

Per montare gli anelli di tenuta si utilizza unappo-

sita pinza, cominciando dallanello inferiore.

Occorre evitare uniperestensione, che deforme-

rebbe gli anelli di tenuta impedendo loro di garan-

tire la perfetta ermeticit.

Prestare molta attenzione al contrassegno TOP.

Gli anelli marchiati TOP devono essere montati

con il contrassegno verso lalto, in direzione del

cielo del pistone.

Gli anelli con lamelle in metallo (anelli di tenuta 3S)

richiedono una particolare cura per il montaggio.

Dopo linserimento della molla, le lamelle devono

essere montate in modo tale che le loro fenditure

si trovino dalla parte del foro dello spinotto. Nel

montaggio della lamella superiore, le estremit

della molla devono essere tenute insieme per evi-

tare una sovrapposizione (fare attenzione alla

marcatura colorata). Successivamente deve

essere montata la lamella inferiore.

In caso di pistoni con protezione antitorsione nelle

scanalature degli anelli, bisogna fare attenzione

che le fenditure degli anelli si trovino in corrispon-

denza dei perni di sicurezza.

Dopo il montaggio degli anelli di tenuta, le fendi-

ture degli anelli devono essere distribuite unifor-

memente lungo la circonferenza (per es. ogni

120 in caso di pistoni a tre anelli).

Dopo il montaggio degli anelli di tenuta occorre

controllarne il gioco laterale. Un gioco inferiore a

0,100 mm rientra nella norma. Se il valore supe-

riore necessario sostituire il pistone.

I set di anelli di tenuta tengono conto di una certa

usura della superficie di scorrimento del cilindro,

che non dovrebbe per superare un valore di

0,100 mm (riferito al diametro del cilindro). In caso

di usura maggiore, deve essere usata una nuova

canna di scorrimento del cilindro oppure il foro del

cilindro deve essere allargato e dotato di un pistone

della dimensione superiore corrispondente.

In caso di superfici di scorrimento del cilindro cro-

mate, non usare anelli di tenuta per cilindri cromati.

Zalecenia montaowe

Przed montaem piercieni konieczne jest sta-

rannie wyczyszczenie rowkw piercieni. Naley

przy tym uwaa, aby nie uszkodzi cianek oraz

promieni na dnie rowka.

W przypadku piercieni ze spryn spiraln styk

spryny (koniec spryny z drucikiem czcym)

musi by obrcony o 180 w stosunku do styku

piercienia. Jeeli spryna spiralna jest powle-

czona wykiem teflonowym, musi on przylega

do styku piercienia.

Stalowe piercienie patkowe (piercienie 3S)

wymagaj zachowania szczeglnej starannoci

podczas montau. Po wymianie spryny tak

zamontowa patki piercienia, aby ich miejsca

styku byy ustawione w kierunku otworu na swo-

rze. Przy montau grnego patka naley przy-

trzyma krawdzie spryny, aby zapobiec nao-

eniu si (zwrci uwag na barwne oznaczenie).

Nastpnie zamontowa dolny patek.

Monta piercieni jest wykonywany za pomoc

odpowiednich szczypiec do piercieni tokowych,

poczynajc od dolnego piercienia. Unika nad-

miernego rozcigania, gdy moe to spowodowa

odksztacenie piercieni i uniemoliwi prawi-

dowe uszczelnienie.

TOP. Jeeli piercienie tokowe posiadaj ozna-

przekrceniem w rowkach piercieni naley zwr-

ci uwag, aby styki piercieni byy ustawione na

kokach zabezpieczajcych.

Po zamontowaniu rwnomiernie rozoy styki

piercieni na obwodzie (np. co 120 w przypadku

tok z 3 piercieniami).

Po zamontowaniu piercieni naley sprawdzi luz
